QUANTUM SUPREMACY, NOT AGAIN

This time, D-Wave claims another quantum supremacy. We are already used to hearing that a quantum computer solves a problem in minutes. In contrast, the same task would take a supercomputer millions, if not billions, of years to complete. And then, there is silence. This never amounts to anything; somehow, the supremacy or advantage disappears.

Well, listen very carefully. All announcements from quantum computing companies are worthless. People in those companies figured out how to drive stocks up. These days, the stock price does not reflect anything happening inside the company. The company does nothing and spreads rumors. It can be worth ten billion dollars one day, then considerably less in a few days. This is sometimes called a Quantum Theranos Effect (QTE), and the founders spend time in jail.

Google was spreading Scheiße, quantum supremacy rumors, now D-Wave. Michio Kaku is still spreading Quantum Supremacy in his book. Recently, Microsoft announced a breakthrough in topological qubits with Majorana fermions. Do Majorana fermions even exist? It's all bullshit!

No quantum computing company has demonstrated that a quantum computer can produce valuable results. Solid arguments exist that a computer based on quantum principles can only make random errors. So far, nobody has come up with an experimental argument against it.

Remember, that a quantum computer can never handle this program:

X=0

Determine X.

You probably realize that existing binary computer programs are slightly more complicated than the above quantum computer challenge.
